Black Terns at Frampton

Tuesday 1st May 2012
A lovely sunny evening and at Frampton four adult BLACK TERNS were at the sailing lake (Townfield Lake) (photos above and below). It was nice to finally catch up with the current tern migration.
Also c60 Sand Martins, c30 Swallows and a House Martin hawking insects over the lake and sometimes resting on nearby wires. A Cuckoo was calling in the direction of Court Lake, and three very vocal Ravens were around. Singing Lesser Whitethroat, Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff were around the lake.
