Woodchat Shrike

Sunday 7th August 2011

I finally had an opportunity today to go for the Woodchat Shrike at Sodbury Common. Thankfully it had stayed long enough for me to add it to my life list, and I managed to avoid the showers and find it within 10 minutes of arriving. I watched it for some time, hunting from its favourite bush catching grasshoppers/bush crickets and the like. What an excellent bird to round off the weekend!
